Plastic Energy is at the forefront of converting non-recyclable “End-of-Life” plastics waste into high grade oils for making clean recycled plastics. Our company mission is to play a significant role in solving the global plastic problem, and to be world leaders in chemical recycling.

We promote the concept of a Circular Economy of plastics, and we use a patented Thermal Anaerobic Conversion (TAC) technology to convert end-of-life and valueless plastics into a product known as TACOIL, which chemical/petrochemical companies can transform back into food-grade recycled plastics.

Plastic Energy has established offices in London and Madrid, and regional offices in Singapore and Malaysia. We currently own two chemical recycling plants in Spain operating at commercial scale, several projects underway in Western Europe, and new developments defined in South East Asia.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Automation Engineer within our growing automation team. You will be joining our wider C&I team as a senior Automation Engineer and will be based in London.

We’re looking for a candidate with proven experience in an engineering design or commissioning organisation, preferably within the process Industry.

 

Role and Responsibilities

You will:

  • Design control hardware system, write, commission, and trouble shoot SCADA/DCS software (PCS7, TIA Portal, WinCC, etc…) tailor made for Plastic Energy Technology and processes.
  • Ensures Automation team delivers a quality product that meets the User Requirement Specification (URS), Cause & Effect (C&E), P&ID.
  • Work closely with the engineers of the other disciplines and operational sites,
  • You will also oversee and develop the technical abilities of junior engineers within the team. You’ll use your experience to delegate activities based on the individual team member’s knowledge, experience, and ability.
  • Have the ability to self-motivate and work on own initiative, as well as supporting the wider team.
  • Electronic Document Management System- Superuser.
  • Clarification and technical authority role for document control issues.
  • Development and implementation of system and processes.

Person Specification

  • Degree in Control and Automation Engineering or related Engineering discipline
  • Proven experience in an engineering design or commissioning organisation, preferably within the Process Industry
  • Familiar with programming DCS/SCADA system and preferably programming PCS7 system from Siemens
  • Knowledge in instrumentations, P&ID, URS (User Requirement Specification), Cause and Effect Matrix, etc
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting Drives (VSD, DOL,…) and safety PLC systems will be appreciated
